So to begin,
DAT ASS.
Cowboys and Aliens was glorious. It was everything I want in an action movie (you’re about to find out what I want in an action movie.)
It had:
- cowboys
- guns
- well timed and coordinated fight scenes
- aliens
- a genuinely frightening and malicious antagonist(s)
- interesting backstory incorporated smoothly into the movie
- ALIENS, SCARY LOOKING ALIENS
- hot men being badasses
- a cohesive plot
- epic ‘last stand’ scene
- clever one liners
- giant explosions
- a weathered protagonist
- a romance that isn’t thrown in your face
Normally with an action movie, I get 3 or 4 of these. I had them all today and it was magnificent.
