there are a bunch of anti abortion protesters at school today with enormous gory displays of bloody bullshit and other signs in the same vein talking about murdering babies and all that crap and it is making me so mad for a lot of reasons (although now it is raining on them so at least nature is not approving of their fuckery), mainly:

1. that info is wrong & the pictures are wildly inaccurate. way to exploit your own cause to try and scare and bully people into it

2. don’t tell women/other women what to do with their bodies. that’s really shitty. my life is worth more to me than a clump of cells in my body’s potential for life. fuck right off with that.

3. heckling people who want to have abortions does nothing but make what is probably a bad, difficult situation that much worse. they aren’t getting one just for kicks goddammit

4. taking away the right to have an abortion kills women, end of story. do what you want, but stop trying to limit my ability to do the same

in conclusion, stop yelling at me on Skiles and go home. if your cause inolves you being hateful and graphic, protip it’s probably a shitty cause. way to make a male dominated campus that much more hostile to women.

Today is the day where you go and vote for the POTUS and lots of other government officials. They matter, and it matters that you go and vote for them whether you live in a swing state or not- not every election on the ballot is decided by the electoral college and if you want the groups you belong to to have their issues paid attention to, you have to show up at the polls. That is the only way to guarantee yourself political attention.

If self interest isn’t enough to motivate you, think of your heaviest civic obligations. You are asked to follow the laws, pay your taxes, and to vote. If you are reading this, chances are you don’t make enough to pay taxes and you probably don’t follow all of the laws; the least you can do it go and vote.

Go and vote for the man you think will do the best job governing the country for the next four years, and think hard about your decision. Be critical of your favorites, don’t vote down party lines, and take the time to look up issues and names that will be on your ballot. Don’t waste or take lightly one of your only chances to participate in the republic and have a semblance of a say in who will serve as your local, state, national, and international voice for the foreseeable future. If you are too lazy or apathetic to want to be part of making a decision that affects not only you directly but millions nationally and billions internationally, fuck you. Vote.

since the 2003 invasion in the wake of 9/11, we’ve killed over 100,000 Iraqi civilians. there’s more than one body count we shouldn’t forget today, or ever. violent reciprocation multiple times over of a heinous crime is not the American legacy I want for us.

HEY ATLiens

(outkast related and otherwise) You should go vote today; specifically against Chuck Eaton, Stan Weiss, and for the TSPLOST and Steve Oppenheimer!

Eaton and Weiss are both good ol’ boys whose campaigns are majority funded by Georgia Power, which happens to be the company that they sit on a board to regulate and do a shit job at. Oppenheimer is a good guy running a decent campaign based on actually regulating the Georgia constitutionally-enforced monopoly that is a Georgia Power rather than sitting on his ass like the current board members are content to do while the bills rise and more and more of their funds go to coal plants, building poorly planned nuclear plants, and blowing the tops off of mountains destroying eco-systems and then lying about it.

TSPLOST is an effort to unfuck Georgia traffic and transit. It’ll create jobs, grow and update our infrastructure (and if you drive in atlanta or have ever ridden MARTA you know beyond a doubt that it needs the update), and allow tourists to fund transit rather than just Georgians because it’s a penny sales tax. My favorite part about it is the expansions it’ll bring to MARTA, which hasn’t been updated since the 80s when we first got federal transit funding and proceeded to do jack shit with it. Suburbs have been opposing the growth of MARTA for years because they claim it’ll bring “crime” to their neighborhoods, which is a bougie white speak for minorities to their neighborhoods. This is our chance to say “fuck you” to that and work towards a cleaner, less car dependent, more efficient and useful transit system for the state.

Go vote.

I am not having enough sex

but I saw the dark knight rises in all of its politicized glory

and I am with my texans and got to sleep late all week

so things are basically tops

I’m in Texas visiting some old friends and as we were hanging out in Austin we remembered that Friday Night Lights (2nd best show of all time) was filmed around here. Turns out someone had made a Google map route of some of the main locations, so we went and checked a few out. Besides everything pictured here we drove past The Landing Strip which looked very much like a Riggin’s hang out and surprisingly nice for a strip club, the “Alamo Freeze” aka Dairy Queen, and the restaurant they always hung out in that’s actually an EZ-E (and pretty good at that, we ate there).

It’s weird to feel nostalgic for a fictional body of work, but I definitely do after driving through “Dillon”. Clear eyes, full hearts, can’t lose.
